Join the Institute of Cardiac Rhythm Diseases (IHU Liryc ), from the University of Bordeaux!

This IHU is invested with a quadruple mission of research, care, innovation and teaching, at the service of the patient. It aims to better understand and treat electrical dysfunctions of the heart that are the cause of many cardiovascular diseases representing nearly a third of deaths worldwide.

As part of the European project CONDUCTION-GTx, we are recruiting a Post‑Doctoral Researcher on cardiac conduction. This research program, funded over 4 years, aims to prove the concept of innovative gene therapies targeting the cardiac conduction system in heart failure.

Main activities:

You will contribute to the experimental/translational pillar in Bordeaux, with responsibilities on advanced pathophysiological and human tissue ex vivo platforms, in interaction with the axes of modelling and clinical research.

You will design and conduct experiments to evaluate the effect of gene therapies on electrophysiological properties and cardiac conduction in advanced translational models.

You will implement innovative approaches such as optical mapping, tissue slice culture and high‑resolution structural imaging. You will contribute to data integration with multi‑scale numerical modelling tools.

Translational platforms
  • You conduct the experimental protocols to analyse conduction and electrophysiological parameters
  • You participate in the implementation and monitoring of procedures and associated datasets
Ex vivo analysis and imaging
  • You carry out ex vivo human tissue preparations, perform optical mapping and measure conduction parameters
  • You use and develop advanced structural imaging methods to link architecture and function
Data analysis and integration
