Une entreprise de culture de viande recherche un avocat en brevets passionné pour mener sa stratégie de brevets. Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec les équipes R&D et contribuerez à la politique de propriété intellectuelle. Un M.Sc. ou Ph.D. dans un domaine pertinent est requis, ainsi que 5 ans d'expérience minimum dans le domaine. Le poste requiert des compétences en communication, en analyse et en rédaction, et un fort intérêt pour l'innovation durable.

Qualifications

• 5+ années d'expérience dans le domaine de la propriété intellectuelle.
• Titulaire d'un brevet européen et/ou américain.
• Expérience avec des bases de données de brevets et rédaction de brevets.

Responsabilités

• Développer et mettre en œuvre la stratégie de brevets de l'entreprise.
• Évaluer l'impact des innovations sur la protection.

We are on a mission to bring tasty, safe, sustainable cultured meat to the world. Gourmey is France’s pioneering cultivated meat company. We create delicious and sustainable restaurant-grade meats directly from animal cells. We are looking for a mission-driven, motivated and passionate patent attorney to roll out the Patent strategy of the company. Reporting directly to the Head of legal & IP, you will work in a team of three and will highly contribute to the IP policy of Gourmey.

What you will be doing

• Challenge and roll out patent strategy
• Identify innovations & technical competitive advantages of Gourmey, and evaluate protection relevancy
• Conduct IP studies in close collaboration with R&D teams
• Draft Patents and procedures in interaction with our externals patent attorneys
• Manage patent portfolio
• Be an active partner for developing an IP culture internally (training, tools…)
• Depending on profile : manage IP related contracts, at least NDAs
• Depending on profile : manage trademarks portfolio

About you

• M.Sc. and/or Ph.D. in (Industrial) Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioprocessing of Stem Cell Biology, Food Chemistry, Food Science, or a closely related discipline
• European and/or US Patent Attorney
• At least 5 years of experience in the IP field, either in patent law firm or in the industry, preferably the biotechnology or the food industry
• Strong analytical and writing skills, critical thinking skills. Capable of taking a step back
• Comfortable with patent databases and patent drafting
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, while working autonomously
• Fluent in both English and French, both written and spoken. We are an international team, but for this specific role French is a must-have
• Passionate about Gourmey’s mission to bring to market delicious & sustainable foods through innovation
• Willingness to collaborate with all team members, to upskill on other areas of IP
• Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and self-motivation; a sense of ownership and responsibility to drive outcomes. A positive, can-do attitude
