JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Marketing Manager is responsible for analysing market intelligence (market dynamics, customer, competition, technology) to develop long-term analyses of key drivers of change within the industry and the macro impacts on product offering and value proposition, and for developing and implementing marketing strategies to support the business. The role spans multiple functions, notably sales, marketing, communication, technical support, R&D, product management, and strategy.
The Marketing Manager will :
Analyses quantitative data from multiple sources (e.g., follow-up on key raw materials, competition (news, import/export), customer and market trends) and collaborates with sales (KAM & local sales team), marketing (pricing analyst) and other teams.
Supports and provides qualitative information to the sales and marketing team through the administration of an internal Intelligence Market Portal, the digital platform to share all types of information, news, kit and dashboards to the refractory team.
Participates in strategic marketing studies, product portfolio reviews, business strategy studies, etc.
The position requires a sharp analytical mindset, a strong business acumen, and a genuine interest in industrial sectors such as Iron & steelmaking, cement, mining, construction materials (concrete, bricks, refractories).
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Market Environment & Competitive Intelligence (50%)
- Enhance the market dashboards (monthly, quarterly) integrating:
- Market economic indicators
- Raw material price indicators
- Competition Import / Export
- Imerys Sales
- Price benchmarks
- Technical trends
- Monitor and report qualitative competition and customer strategic and commercial moves.
- Update the pricing guidelines document based on quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Conduct continuous improvement and update on digital refractory marketing dashboards and platforms
- Intelligence Market Portal
- CRM (SalesForce)
- Spot Price Offer
- Other digital tools
- Operational Marketing (10 - 25%)
- Participate external events as Imerys representative
- Provide marketing support / content for internal and external events (e.g. Commercial meetings, technical conferences), including content preparation and analysis support
- Develop and maintain structured customer profiles to help refine commercial targeting and value proposition
- Support the deployment of marketing tools (e.g. digital brochures, presentation kits, Technical Data Sheets, commercial dashboards)
- Coordinate with communication and product management teams to ensure consistent messaging and positioning across geographies
- Strategic Marketing (15 - 40%)
- Identify and conduct in-depth research of new opportunities and future market trends
- Build up business cases, business plans & business models
- Support in defining and implementing our Refractory segment’s long terms strategy
- Support M&A projects on Sales & Marketing related topics
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related fields with 5 years of equivalent work-related experience in B2B sales and marketing or business analysis. Previous exposure to technical and/or industrial environments is strongly preferred (refractory, steel, metallurgy, ceramics, cement, concrete, construction materials...).
- Understanding of the refractory markets: applications, customers / players, products
- Excellent marketing analyst-reporting skills and data management
- Customer oriented mind-set
- Good interpersonal capabilities in order to liaise with cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Good problem solving & strategic thinking skills
- Experience creating detailed reports with high level of attention to detail & data integrity
- Good communication skill and experienced in giving presentations
- Strong time management skills, agility, adaptability to changes & reactivity
- Capacity to work independently and with a global team on both marketing and transversal topics
- English: fluent (international environment)
- Up to 10% travel
