A leading transportation company is seeking a Solution Application Architect based in Saint-Ouen. This role involves defining proposals and strategies for Urban Signalling Solutions, leading tender activities, and managing a team of architects. Overview

As part of our Alstom Digital & Integrated Systems activity, the Saint‑Ouen Development Centre designs Alstom Urban CBTC Signalling Solutions: Urbalis 400 – a system deployed on more than 100 projects worldwide – and Urbalis Fluence, our latest and most innovative Urban Signalling System. The Solution Application Architects are the technical managers in charge of defining the technical solution for our Urban Signalling System tenders and following the application of the solution during the project deployment phase. They have a key role in defining the next steps of our Signalling System in future applications in line with platform reuse strategies and market needs.

Solution Application Architects role is to:
  • Define the best design proposal and deployment strategy to meet customer expectations
  • Share the technical requirement and agree on the solution with Alstom’s tender and project teams, customer interface teams, development teams and strategic leaders
  • Promote and explain our Systems and their technical advantages to potential or current customers, as well as internally during training or communication meetings
  • Contribute to other Signalling Innovation Programs at Alstom as System Experts
As Solution Application Architect Group Manager you will:
  • Manage hierarchically Solution Application Architects
  • Lead St‑Ouen Development Center tendering activities and technical proposals
  • Contribute to the definition of Urbalis Technical Roadmap (for Urbalis 400 and Fluence) and lead roadmap topics arising from tenders and future developments
  • As a Technical Authority and System Engineering Expert follow up critical Urbalis tenders and Preliminary Design Reviews, assessing overall solution adequacy
  • Lead transverse technical topics as a System Engineering Expert
Profile & Qualifications
  • Graduate of a master’s degree in Engineering or university equivalent, preferably with a specialization in Rail Transportation Systems
  • Experience preferred: 10+ years in a similar position (complex system architecture, system design, project engineering, validation or operational safety) within a transport company; experience in rail signalling is appreciated
  • Ability to solve technical problems with rigorous, critical thinking, analytical approach and creativity – synthesising different aspects of a technical subject to make reasoned decisions and conduct analyses independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a taste for collaborative work; comfortable presenting to clients and motivated by multicultural environments
  • Fluency in English is essential
