A UK-based boutique management consulting firm is recruiting multiple mid-level consultants to support strategic transformation projects in Africa. These remote roles involve leading strategic planning, designing operating models, and building Centres of Excellence. Candidates should have 5-8 years of experience in top-tier consulting and fluency in French and English. The role requires strong cultural fluency in African markets and stakeholder management skills. Some travel for client sessions is expected every 6 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Background at Big 4 Strategy, MBB or equivalent tier-1 firms.
  • Extensive Africa or emerging markets experience.
  • Ability to navigate cultural, political, and operational nuances.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills at senior levels.

This is a 12 week project (with potential extension), based in Côte d'Ivoire. Remote with some international travel required. Open to talent from EMEA. Must be fluent in French & English

Our client is a UK-based boutique management consulting firm. They are seeking multiple mid-level consultants with strong Africa and emerging markets experience to support a series of strategic transformation and operating model design projects across public sector, private equity, and engineering/infrastructure domains.

You will play a hands-on role in shaping and executing high-impact transformation programmes, designing Centres of Excellence, developing target operating models, and driving value-creation initiatives. These are execution-heavy roles requiring minimal handholding and strong cultural fluency in African markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic planning, including market assessments, benchmarking, and internal/external analysis.
  • Design Target Operating Models (TOMs), governance structures, and organisational blueprints.
  • Build and operationalise Centres of Excellence (CoEs) across functions (e.g., transformation, sustainability, PMO).
  • Drive large-scale transformation initiatives from design through implementation.
  • Facilitate change management efforts and capability building across client teams.
  • Engage directly with senior stakeholders (public and private sector) and manage multi-workstream delivery.
  • Mobilise and prioritise initiatives into executable workstreams with clear milestones and KPIs.
  • Provide value-creation insights across engineering, infrastructure, and private equity portfolio contexts.
  • Prepare high-quality deliverables (strategic frameworks, roadmaps, operating models, business cases).
  • Travel for in-person client sessions approximately every 6 weeks.
Ideal Profile
Must-Have Requirements
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in management/strategy consulting
  • Background at Big 4 Strategy, MBB, or equivalent tier-1 consulting firms.
  • Extensive Africa or emerging markets experience — able to navigate cultural, political, and operational nuances.
  • Fluent in French and English (written & spoken).
  • Deep expertise in at least two of the following:
  • Building and scaling Centres of Excellence
  • Sustainability or ESG transformation
  • Change management
  • Exposure to large-scale programmes in East, West, or Central Africa.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills at C-suite and senior government levels.
