Overview

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Health and Safety-Division Leader (f/m), based in Marignane, France at Airbus Helicopters. You will be part of the Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Division team, whose primary responsibilities include driving health and safety and environmental strategies and related policies, and partnering with sites worldwide to implement their roadmaps.

You will be in charge of piloting the Health and Safety pillar for the Division. You will work in close partnership with counterparts from the Airbus Helicopters Environmental pillar, as well as with the Airbus Group Health & Safety team. You will report directly to the Head of Environment Health and Safety for Airbus Helicopters.

Work environment: Marignane is a major economic hub near Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, with access to beaches and a rich cultural and tourist offer.

Travel: As this is a transnational position, ability to travel regularly to worldwide sites is required. Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Security: This position requires a security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognized authorities.

This position supports flexible working arrangements where possible.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Division's Occupational Safety, Health & Wellbeing and Environment strategies and related policies.
  • Drive a worldwide, end-to-end approach to standardization, alignment, and cross-fertilization.
  • Champion a cultural transformation that embeds Environment Health and Safety excellence into everything we do.
  • Partner with Sites worldwide to ensure successful implementation of their local roadmaps.
  • Pilot the Health and Safety pillar for the Division and collaborate with the Environmental pillar and the Airbus Group Health & Safety team.
  • Coordinate the worldwide Health & Safety network with a robust governance model focusing on Customer Centers; provide high-level H&S expert advice and coaching to the network, including Managing Directors of Customer Centers.
  • Maintain and develop expertise in specialized fields (e.g., fire protection, chemical, radiation) and oversee management of key H&S risks via audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Lead high-impact projects to strengthen the global H&S culture; coordinate Learning and Competences strategy for the Division; drive H&S reporting at the Division level.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Safety, Health and/or Environment.
  • Experience: 10 years in Health and Safety; leadership experience; experience in a production environment.
  • Travel: Regular travel to worldwide sites is required.
  • Language: Excellent English communication skills.
  • Core competencies: Health and Safety strategies and policies; auditing; project management; regulatory affairs; specialized H&S expertise (preferred in areas such as radiation, laser safety, ergonomics, fire protection, or chemical safety).
  • Leadership competencies: Strategic communication, inspirational leadership, collaboration & influence, continuous improvement mindset, analytical and problem-solving skills.
