The role of Head of Content Marketing :
The Head of Content Marketing will own the content strategy for the business, defining content requirements to support demand generation, account-based marketing and thought leadership via multiple channels, including digital, sales materials, events and more. In addition to defining and developing the strategy, the role-holder will be expected to create high quality content and to coordinate internal and external content writers and designers to deliver the content requirements for the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead content marketing for OneStock and own the content strategy.
- Develop written content for a B2B software audience – including articles, white papers, research papers or content to support webinar and event presentations.
- Research new topics and develop insights that help the target audience, build the brand and reputation, and work with internal experts to gain market and product knowledge.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing and the business to determine priorities based on company goals (revenue growth and brand development) and implement the strategy.
- Act as primary writer with the option to outsource some content creation to freelance writers to scale delivery.
- Become an expert on how technology enables B2C and B2B merchants to achieve revenue growth, with focus on unified commerce, distributed order management and order orchestration, and share customer stories.
- Help shape a great content strategy in a GenAI-enabled world, differentiating and delivering value to the audience.
- Be highly organized, using product management tools (Trello preferred) to manage content projects and ensure stakeholder visibility; work with the digital marketing lead to distribute content and optimize performance based on data.
- Help develop OneStock’s brand by delivering content that resonates with the audience.
Qualifications
- 5 years+ as a content writer in a B2B software environment – SaaS, retail technology or scale-up would be a significant plus.
- Outstanding written English – native level or very close.
- Proven ability to become a genuine subject-matter expert and to contribute original thought to the industry.
- Experience writing content for a mixed technical and business audience and understanding differences between the two.
- Experience delivering assets for a B2B software company – white papers, articles, primary-research reports (including data analysis and findings), sales collateral and presentation content for webinars and events.
- Highly organized and a “completer-finisher”; able to set own agenda and manage time while prioritizing multiple stakeholders’ requests.
- Familiarity with digital channels and the requirements this places on content creation.
