Overview

The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) is a Gold Level Veteran Friendly Employer as part of the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA). MDOC employs nearly 1,500 veterans and actively serving military members and offers benefits and services to support military and veteran employees, spouses, and families.

Provide dental services to prisoners at assigned Correctional Facility and other Dental Clinics as assigned. These services include diagnosis, operative/restorative, surgical (including extractions), and prosthetic treatment. Documentation of patient treatment information is required by Dental Program guidelines to ensure compliance and quality of care. The position supports supervised Dental Staff and maintains facility Dental Clinic operations per MDOC Dental Program standards. Possession of a Controlled Substance and U.S.D.E.A. Registration is preferred. This is a test-designated position with direct contact with and supervisory responsibility over prisoners for more than 50% of work time. The position is located 100% within the secure perimeter of a Correctional Facility.

Note: The pay range for classified Dentists in the Michigan Department of Corrections includes a 20% critical pay increase.
