Mission

Imagine you buy a bike from a bike store. The bike store contracts with an insurer to provide coverage; this is Wakam’s role.

Role Overview

You will work on both the BUILD side and the RUN side. On the BUILD side you will discuss with the bike store or any company that sells insurance products (without being an insurer itself) to implement data flows between the broker and Wakam. You will work with the partner to ensure partnership data is provided to business and technical teams and manage your own portfolio of partnerships. You will interact closely with Wakam Business teams to understand the product and data needs, provide data advice and requirements to the partner, work iteratively with partners to engineer the data flows in our Git repo, and report progress via dedicated tools in Data Office and Business Committees.

On the RUN side you will monitor and ensure that our monthly data integration with our 150+ partners is executed perfectly. You will be a key contact for internal clients (Technical Reserving, Profitability Department, Reinsurance, Accounting, Compliance) and partners, take charge of requests, incidents, evolution requests, assistance, handle them in compliance with SLA and insurance standards, analyse and follow up on problems escalated to the various departments until resolved, and communicate regularly on action plans and progress of requests in writing and verbally. You are comfortable committing to our Git repo and can easily understand and code in Python.

Responsibilities

• Interact closely with Wakam Business teams to understand product and data needs.
• Provide data advice and requirements to partners based on product specificities and Wakam's data needs.
• Engineer data flows in the Git repo, requiring good knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Report on data implementation projects progress via dedicated tools and committees.
• Contribute to internal transverse technical and business projects and continuous process improvement.
• Monitor and ensure monthly data integration with 150+ partners is executed with perfection.
• Act as a key contact for internal clients and partners on various data topics.
• Take charge of incidents, evolution requests, and assistance in compliance with SLA.
• Analyse and follow up on problems escalated until resolved.
• Communicate regularly on action plans and progress of requests, both in writing and verbally.
• Commit necessary changes to the Git repo and code in Python.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience in data management, data consulting, data analytics, or analytics engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication skills in English and French.
• Expertise in SQL for analytics.
• Experience with at least two of the following technologies: Azure, Snowflake, DBT, Databricks, PowerBI.
• Proficiency in Python is a plus.
• Insurance knowledge is a plus.
