Overview

The European Synchrotron, the ESRF, is an international research centre based in Grenoble, France. Responsibilities
  • Carry out innovative research on ID01 and develop an in-house project that exploits ID01's unique technical capabilities.
  • Provide support to external users from both academia and industry.
  • Drove ongoing technical development and upgrade of the beamline, in close collaboration with international experts.
  • Disseminate scientific results through publications and conference presentations.
Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Physics or Chemistry or Biology or a closely related subject
  • A minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience with X-ray (coherent) diffraction, X-ray optics or related methods.
  • A strong aptitude for synchrotron beamline instrumentation including programming skills (Python) would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of diffraction/scattering techniques data analysis and modelling will be essential for in-house research and user support.
  • Proficiency in English (working language at the ESRF)
