Make your mark in Actuarial

Our Actuaries and Data Scientists are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG's major insurance operating companies globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing, and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage, and mitigate risk.

How you would make an impact

The Pricing Manager provides technical pricing support for new and existing products, working closely with local and regional teams to meet deadlines and deliver quality work. The role also supports portfolio management efforts to enhance business understanding.

Some of the key responsibilities include :

  • Providing actuarial support as the business requires to profitably grow and take remedial actions where needed.
  • Supporting the development, alignment, and execution of portfolio strategies.
  • Monitoring rates at an account/portfolio level in coordination with the business.
  • Producing pricing analysis for large accounts and schemes within agreed timescales, working closely with underwriters.
  • Ensuring data used for pricing and monitoring is complete, accurate, adequate, and timely.
  • Taking ownership of projects.
  • Coaching and managing junior team members.
  • Complying with key regulatory and risk management procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining global best practices, methodological guidance, and standard rating tools and templates.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Qualified Actuary from a recognized actuarial society or qualified by experience.
  • Significant relevant actuarial experience within General Insurance.
  • Some management experience is preferred.
  • Proven proficiency in actuarial pricing concepts and methodologies.
  • Expertise in Excel, with knowledge or experience in R, Python, or other programming languages.
