A Day in the Life

In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and transformation of new innovations for makeup products, focusing on applicator creation. Reporting to our Advanced Packaging Manager, you will collaborate with global Advanced Engineering, R&I, Marketing, Operations, and other cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance consumer experiences and drive L’Oréal’s business forward.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Innovation Leadership: Drive the creation of innovative applicators and packaging solutions that deliver emotionally charged experiences, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with consumer needs.
  • Project Management: Oversee technical timelines, manage milestones, and ensure on‑time delivery to industrial teams. Manage and influence innovative design‑to‑conception and design‑to‑cost processes.
  • Sustainability: Champion sustainable packaging initiatives, designing the packaging of tomorrow and driving sustainability goals.
  • Collaboration: Build strong partnerships across functions, including CMI, Product Development, Marketing, and Packaging Engineering. Establish trust and foster a solution‑driven culture.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage knowledge of molding processes, materials, and manufacturing capabilities to mitigate risks and transform ideas into reality. Develop and maintain expertise in emerging trends, packaging technology, and finished product manufacturing capabilities.
  • Communication: Present compelling stories to highlight the benefits of created applicators and packaging, addressing the "Why, What, and How" of conception, consumer needs, technical challenges, and key project milestones.

We Are Looking For

You’re a great match if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in package engineering and new product development, preferably in cosmetics or consumer goods.
  • Strong technical knowledge of molding processes, materials, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present compelling visions and influence stakeholders.
  • A creative, curious, and solution‑oriented mindset, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
  • Expertise in managing documentation, materials, and information for rapidly changing priorities.
  • Awareness of intellectual property (IP) to respect existing patents and actively engage in patenting new technical solutions.
  • Strong PC skills; MS Office, PowerPoint and CAD software.
  • Professional level of spoken and written English.
