A leading international technology company in San Sebastian is seeking a Technical Engineering Director to oversee their Services Team. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or PhD in a relevant STEM field and 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning, particularly in NLP or deep learning. Responsibilities include driving project delivery, team building, and managing client relationships. Fluency in Spanish is required. Relocation and visa support are offered for the right candidate.

• Minimum 3 years’ industry experience working on applied machine learning solutions with emphasis on NLP, Large Language Models, or Deep Learning.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management with hands-on responsibility for delivering end-to-end client engagements.
• Demonstrated team management experience, ideally managing managers and multi-project pipelines.

Technical Engineering Director (Services)

A fantastic opportunity for a driven Technical Engineering Director to join an International Quantum Computing Leader, overseeing their Services Team based in San Sebastian, Spain.

This is a Permanent position, with Relocation and Visa's supported if required!

Drives end-to-end delivery on customer projects : from technical scoping to execution and delivery.

Builds and curates a high-performance team : responsible for recruitment, mentorship, career development, and fostering an open and collaborative environment.

Allocates and optimizes talent across projects : ensures that resources are aligned effectively with department priorities while maintaining workload balance.

Brings unique technical expertise : leverages deep domain knowledge in machine learning, LLMs, and / or quantum computing to act as a technical authority and trusted advisor.

Coordinates with other directors : identifies cross-project synergies and ensures alignment with other department teams to maximize company-wide impact.

Represents the department externally : acts as a technical and strategic point of contact for customers, managing relationships and aligning client success with company objectives.

Reports directly to VP of Services and CTO.

Master’s or PhD in Machine Learning, Physics, Computer Science, or related STEM field.

Minimum 3 years’ industry experience working on applied machine learning solutions, with emphasis on NLP, Large Language Models, or Deep Learning.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management with hands‑on responsibility for delivering end-to-end client engagements.

Experience with Python and applied ML frameworks.

Fluent Spanish Speaking is required.
