About the Role

As Team Lead Digital Risk Control for Business Domain Tech, you'll own first-line digital & technology risk control activities for our business units' tech domains. You'll ensure risks are identified, appropriate controls are applied, and performance is continuously monitored, measured, and reported to our technology leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Digital Risk Control Business Domain Tech team for Swiss Re

  • Establish and maintain a robust digital risk posture across your area of responsibility

  • Foster a strong risk culture within organizational structures

  • Ensure threats and risks are understood, issues are handled timely, and controls are effective

  • Collaborate with digital & technology teams to embed controls into operational procedures

  • Measure performance and continuously improve our risk position

  • Establish operational transparency through continuous monitoring and assessment of controls

  • Drive corrective actions when necessary to meet our risk tolerance

  • Create an environment enabling autonomy and mastery for all team members

  • Develop staff skills through learning opportunities and growth plans

  • Contribute to strategy development as an active member of the leadership team

  • Champion continuous innovation and finding better approaches every day

About the Team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, operational resilience, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security and digital governance strategy. As part of Digital Risk Governance & Control, the Digital Risk Control team drives design and operating effectiveness of our controls for Business Domain Tech.

About You

You're a motivated leader with a passion for digital risk management who understands its value as an enabler of business performance. You thrive in collaborative environments and excel at communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences. Your leadership style inspires teams to achieve excellence while supporting individual growth and development.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
  • Strong people management and leadership skills with experience leading international teams

  • Track record of successful delivery in IT governance-related roles (IT audit, operational risk management)-preferred applicants with 12+ years of relevant experience

  • Understanding of Risk Management Frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 31000, and COSO ERM

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English

These are additional nice to haves:
  • CISA, CGEIT, CRISC or similar qualifications

  • Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business and contemporary technology solutions

  • Experience building collaborative networks within IT organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in hybrid environments

  • Proven track record of decision-making under pressure

  • Experience in conveying information to diverse audiences from senior management to development teams

For Spain the base salary range for this position is between EUR 59,000]and EUR 98,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
