Overview

The IGTP is looking to hire a veterinarian to coordinate and conduct research in the Neurovascular field as part of the Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology Research group.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate studies conducted on animal models of stroke (rodents and large animals) using GLPs.
  • Ensure welfare of laboratory animals in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform or supervise surgical procedures on rodents and/or large animals.
  • Oversee pre- and post-operative care, analgesia, and humane endpoints.
  • Conduct health monitoring and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Perform ex vivo immunohistochemistry, ELISAs, or other biochemical procedures as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Veterinarian degree with experience in animal research (rodents and large animals).
  • Proven experience in animal stroke-model design and surgical/interventional techniques, blind outcome assessment, reproducibility protocols, imaging, and biomarker quantification.
  • Strong communication, organizational, time management, and task planning and prioritization skills.
  • Effective management of multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
