A multinational corporation seeks a Shopper Marketer to lead local activation and engagement in Madrid. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and marketing experience in the CPG industry. Responsibilities include managing budgets, developing marketing programs, and supporting sales efforts. Proficiency in Spanish and English is required, along with strong analytical skills. This is a full-time on-site position at the Madrid office.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Shopper Marketer for Home Improvement product portfolio within Consumer Business Group, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

The purpose of the role is to lead Local Activation and Engagement to drive demand generation, provide relevant insights and input into area and global. It will focus in the Home Improvement market, which includes Command™, mounting and fastening, tapes, insulation, floor protection and safety.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Identifying, executing and/or adapting customer specific shopper marketing programs that are aligned with the marketing strategy and channel/customers’ strategy (NPI, Key Seasons, Penetration program, …).
  • Initiating and integrating local shopper insights into the development of shopper marketing activities (based on shopper needs, attitudes and behaviours at the point of decision: in store/online/catalogues).
  • Managing local shopper marketing budget in alignment with marketing and customer strategy.
  • Input to the area teams (Area portfolio, NPI and segment marketing): providing input to Marketing planning; program and calendar development, competitive intelligence; ensuring local regulatory and packaging compliance for portfolios/programs; aligning to Campaign outcomes/input/results; NPI voice of market, ideas, local needs, participate in global NPI team/with area new product marketers.
  • Manage local calendar of execution: demand generation at regional level; defining, with EMEA team, local social media/media/key platforms for communication; execution of EMEA End‑user communications; recommendation on media buys.
  • Channel management: developing strong knowledge of the channel and be the referent for the regional and central team;sales Partnership and Engagement:
    • Delivering programs/promotions/new product materials to field sales
    • Close alignment/partnership with sales teams to deliver programs
    • Support local country trade show & customer events
  • Promotion support: translation correctness and regulatory and legal alignment; validation of translation into local business language of any kind of text.
  • Marketing updates: product support: New product translation correctness and local requirement management, local material owners; promotion planning (IBP process input) – only an input to the process.
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business administration, Economics, Marketing, etc.).
  • Previous marketing experience in CPG industry (retail or B2C environment), excellence in marketing disciplines (price, portfolio, end‑user, channel, communication).
  • Knowledge of the customers and market dynamics, key market trends. Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Languages: Spanish & English.

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience in Home Improvement market will be a plus.
  • Ability to influence teams, inspire and drive change. Personality to convince and engage sales teams.
  • Proactivity, creativity, innovation, focus on results.
  • Team player with a strong drive to learn and develop.
Job specifics
  • Work location: This role has on-site model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Madrid.
  • Travel expectations: May include up to 10% domestically/internationally.
  • Working pattern: full time.
