At ING we are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator
Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Oracle Database Administrator to join our Platform Automation area within Cloud and Tech Foundations Tribe to provide the organization with an automated foundational layer for present and future Tech Platform.
Your key responsibilities
- Ensure automation/removal of manual intervention in all processes related to the IT Assets.
- Secure the operational performance of the IT Assets which are delivered and maintained.
- Ensure monitoring of infrastructure and development of predictive alert systems to prevent incidents.
- Continuously take the initiative to improve the way of work and the collaboration on the squad.
- Responsibility for developing, managing, harmonising and phasing out Oracle products and services.
- Accountable for maximizing the product's value resulting from squad's work; you support and develop your colleagues through effective knowledge sharing and resource usage and promote the One Agile Way of Working (OAWoW) culture.
- Communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
What are we looking for?
- Good understanding of the Oracle/SQLServer database, related utilities and tools.
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of database software and related products.
- Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies (RMAN-Datapump).
- Perform database tuning and performance.
- Maintenance and optimization of databases and queries.
- Incident resolution and system operation.
- Plan growth and changes (capacity planning).
- Patch Management (applying patchset and PSU).
- Storage knowledge (ASM infrastructure – griddisk - diskgroup).
- Replication process
- Goldengate
- Data Guard (Active) – switchover and failover process.
- Always On – switchover and failover process.
- Ability to perform both database and operating system (Linux/Windows) performance tuning.
- Monitoring (Prometheus-Grafana).
- Exadata knowledge.
- Has experience in backlog management.
- Has experience in planning and managing the Life Cycle of applications in production.
- Has knowledge of software development lifecycle tools such as Azure DevOps and Ansible.
- Can collaborate with SREs to identify root-cause and remediate any issues in production.
- Can work in an autonomous way and take initiative.
- Makes things happen thanks to his/her ‘can do’ attitude.
- Is a team player.
- Takes the initiative for improving processes, ensuring creative ideas are implemented.
