Responsibilities
- Company creation and sourcing: proactively source disruptive and impactful scientific projects from Spanish academia, research centres, and hospitals.
- Analyse inbound deal flow to identify potential investment opportunities.
- Identify promising scientific entrepreneurs in the healthcare space, cultivating network and attending conferences and events.
- Support scientific, strategic, and financial evaluation and due diligence of new company‑creation projects.
- Assist the Fund team in the investment execution process, including pre‑seed investments.
- Track portfolio company performance and sustainability metrics, and support investor reporting.
- Engage and manage relationships with portfolio companies, providing support where needed.
Qualifications
- PhD in Life Sciences.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of relevant experience in Life Sciences VC, a pharma/biotech/med‑tech company, a technology transfer office, or life sciences consulting firm.
- Experience in operations and financing in parallel settings (start‑ups, tech transfer offices, or companies).
- Basic to intermediate financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis skills.
- Advanced problem‑solving skills and the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively.
- Self‑motivated and collaborative with exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate.
- Strong desire to learn continually and grow professionally.
- Advanced or fluent English speaking and writing skills.
- Preferred location: Spain (Barcelona or Madrid).
