What You'll Do
- Help make location content best-in-class by advocating for and implementing changes to technology, process, tools, and systems.
- Draw our strategy based on insights obtained from manipulating data from various sources: system logs, satellite imagery, vertical imagery, street-level imagery, GPS traces, etc., both individually and by fusing these sources.
- Use these sources or their combinations to predict map features and attributes by training statistical, ML, or AI models.
- State the quality level of our maps via statistical experiments that help us understand our position and reasons, delivering insights to guide our map editing strategy.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure synergy, transparency, and knowledge sharing across the company.
- Dedicate part of your weekly schedule to research and development to acquire new skills and run experiments.
- Work in a mostly remote and flexible manner to maintain work-life balance.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Software Engineer with relevant data analytics projects.
- Experience in analyzing large datasets to extract insights.
- Solid statistical knowledge and experience designing and testing experiments.
- Experience with various ML/AI techniques and frameworks.
- Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hive).
- Proficiency in Python, Unix/Linux, and SQL.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a talent for data storytelling.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills, openness to feedback.
- A drive to learn new technologies.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
What's Nice to Have
- Experience deploying scalable models on cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) using Docker.
- Experience working with geospatial data.
- Experience with reporting and dashboarding tools like Streamlit, R Shiny, PowerBI, Tableau.
