The role involves monitoring site performance, setting up safety programs, and conducting compliance audits. Formación

Overview

Safety Specialist, Health and Safety MF Amazon • Dos Hermanas, Andalucía, Spain

This is a hands-on opportunity to make a difference to people every day. Key responsibilities

• Monitor site performance against set KPIs and create plans to improve processes
• Set up workplace health and safety programmes and arrange training sessions
• Analyse safety metrics and incident trends to help colleagues plan appropriate resources for areas with the highest risk
• Carry out audits to make sure your site is compliant with relevant health and safety laws and implement solutions where you identify risks

A day in the life

You’ll be based on location at one of our sites which could be one of our fulfilment centres, sortation centres or delivery stations. Being on site means that you can keep a close eye on the processes. As well as helping us stay on top of health and safety compliance you’ll spot potential issues and identify opportunities for improvement. That means working closely with people across the business to get to know the risks they experience and gathering data to identify smarter and safer ways that we can work. You’ll also set up training and other programmes to help everyone follow new safety processes and reach new standards.

About the team

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates and local governments across our sites, making sure we’re complying with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations and that our workplaces are safe. There is a range of opportunities within the team from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. No matter what your role is you’ll play a part in developing, implementing and upholding our high safety and wellbeing standards. You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building and equipment design.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
• Experience in workplace health & safety (WHS) related field
• Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace
• Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (including specialisations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) following Spanish Health and Safety regulations
• Understanding of Spanish Environment Health and Safety legislation
• Advanced proficiency in (local language) and English
• Experience in emergency response
• Experience in workers compensation case management
• Experience of Lean 5S or Kaizen methodologies
• Experience of planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives
