A leading health research institution based in Barcelona seeks a Research Technician to manage administrative and technical aspects of a collaboration on urban health. Responsibilities include coordinating the co-creation process with municipalities, organizing meetings, and preparing reports. The position is part-time for 3-5 months with a starting date of 15/09/2025, offering a salary of approx. €13,294 gross annually.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

ISGlobal is seeking a Research Technician who is interested in managing the administrative and technical aspects of part of the collaborative agreement on urban health with the DIBA. The is a long standing collaboration that uses knowledge translation of scientific evidence to provide technical support to municipalities in the DIBA region to improve population health in urban environments.
The specific project centres on the application of the ISGlobal Healthy Urban Design Index (HUDI) to three municipalities in the DIBA region. This position will support the co-creation process among the cities, DIBA and ISGlobal to explore the validity and relevance of the HUDI as an urban planning and health tool in these contexts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate the co-creation process among the DIBA, ISGlobal and 3 municipalities to evaluate the HUDI in each city.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Organization of meeting with the project partners
  • Technical participation in the meetings to understand the relevance of HUDI
  • Preparation and dissemination of meeting reports
  • Assist cities with retrieval of additional data sources
  • Assist with the running of additional HUDI analysis based on new data
  • Preparation of final report for the DIBA

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  • We are looking for a research technician who is familiar with health impact assessment (HIA) methodologies and co-creation processes to work with the DIBA and cities to evaluate the application of HUDI to these specific contexts.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge and experience in health impact assessment (HIA) and co-creation processes Experience with retrieval, combination, analysis and communication of environmental exposure, population and health data.
LANGUAGE LEVEL
  • Proficiency in Catalan, English, and Spanish.
CONDITIONS
  • Duration: 3-5 months
  • Starting date: 15/09/2025
  • Contract Type: Part time (20 hours per week)
  • Salary: Technician II B (26.588€ gross annual full time equivalent).The actual salary will be adjusted to the part-time dedication (50%), i.e. approx. 13,294 € gross annual.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
