A leading pharmaceutical company in Madrid is looking for a QC Technician – Microbiologist to oversee microbiological quality control activities. The candidate will perform assays, ensure compliance with GMP standards, and support documentation development. Preferred candidates will have a degree in relevant fields and a minimum of one year of experience in pharmaceutical microbiology. Formación

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmaceutical microbiology; 2 years preferred.

We are currently seeking a QC Technician – Microbiologist to supervise and perform microbiological quality control activities, ensuring full compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing QC equipment, reviewing analytical results, supporting new projects, and contributing to process automation and environmental monitoring.

Please note: although the position is based in Madrid, the role requires a 3‑month stay in Llanera.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and/or supervise microbiological assays, including endotoxins, bioburden, sterility testing, and method validations.
  • Support the development, revision, and updating of GMP documentation (SOPs, analytical methods, protocols).
  • Participate in activities related to sterile manufacturing, such as environmental monitoring, media fill (APS), and equipment qualifications.
  • Review analytical results, reports, and documentation generated by laboratory analysts.
  • Contribute to the establishment, organization, and start‑up of the microbiology laboratory.
  • Provide technical support during inspections, deviations, and investigations (OOS/OOT).
  • Coordinate closely with QC, QA, and Production to ensure GMP compliance across activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Biology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmaceutical microbiology; 2 years preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience in microbiological assays (endotoxins, bioburden, sterility, method validations).
  • Preferably experience in sterile material manufacturing requirements: environmental control, media fill, qualifications, etc.
  • Experience working in QC laboratories and sterile environments.
  • Strong autonomy, initiative, and adaptability, especially in start‑up settings.
