We are seeking a Clinical Project Manager in Spain for international observational field studies and secondary data studies to join our team in Madrid. Applications from senior project associates acting as project managers shall also be considered.

How to Apply

To apply, please send both a CV and a cover letter in English. Epidemiology is a niche, late‑phase international Contract Research Organisation (CRO) with operations centred in our Madrid office, and home‑based staff in the UK and USA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Close involvement with world‑class science (epidemiologists and statisticians, hybrid field‑database studies, and an eminent Professor of Medical Statistics, who visits Madrid monthly).
  • Involvement in all aspects of field studies and secondary data studies, as well as pure operational areas: proposal, bid defence, protocol, SAP, eCRF development, PV, analyses, reports, manuscripts.
  • Maintain relationships by meeting face‑to‑face with your team(s) (frequency of visits to the Madrid office determined by whether you live in or away from Madrid) in a friendly, learning, fun environment.
  • A horizontal company, with access to upper management.
  • Opportunity to stay close to the science and interact closely with epidemiologists, medics, statisticians, data managers, EDC software developers, PV, as well as the Operations group, and be involved in innovative developments in observational research, such as hybrid field‑database studies and pragmatic trials, with leading academics in London, Oxford, and other EU countries.
  • Managing and leading a Project Team.
  • Ensuring that the Project Team completes the project on budget, on schedule and within scope.
  • Monitoring of project progress and level of performance.
  • Checking project progress toward its objectives, determining the cause of any deviations from the plan, and taking corrective actions to address these deviations.
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed Project Plan with the team and managing the team's performance of project tasks.
  • Managing project deliverables in line with the Project Plan.
  • Managing project resources and availability according to the different project phases.
  • Key contact for client management.
  • Efficient communication throughout the entire project life, including preparation of status reports on a regular basis, organisation of internal and external meetings and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved by the Project Team.
  • Keeping track of project issues and escalation where appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, life sciences or related discipline is required; master’s degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • A minimum of 2–3 years of experience as Project Associate / Project Management Assistant or PM in a CRO or biopharmaceutical company.
  • Advanced computer skills including Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other PM software.
  • Strong operational management with attention to detail.
Benefits
  • Full‑time, permanent contract.
  • Flexible hybrid office‑home based (determined visits to the Madrid office).
  • Health insurance.
