We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Browser Product Team. Reporting to the Manager Software Development Engineering in Spain, you will be working remotely and responsible for the following.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end architecture and develop long-running lightweight agent-like desktop applications for Windows or Mac, and optionally Linux platforms, with a focus on secure communication with Zscaler's cloud infrastructure.
• Own and provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of OS-specific integrations and actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and release new application features.
• Mentor engineering teams on best practices and advanced technical concepts within the desktop application development space.
• Participate in on-call with a fail-fast, fix-faster attitude to minimize production issues, emphasizing preemptive quality assurance and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

• 12 years of professional software development experience, including 5 years designing and building desktop applications for Windows or Mac (Linux experience is a plus).
• Strong expertise in Rust, C, or C++, particularly in the development of desktop agents or services.
• Demonstrable understanding of OS-specific APIs, system-level programming concepts, and related development frameworks.
• Extensive experience with HTTP, REST, gRPC, or other communication protocols.
• Deep understanding of secure communication mechanisms between desktop applications and cloud services.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of JavaScript or Go.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and toolchains such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
