A global healthcare leader is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison for Northern Spain, focusing on engaging healthcare professionals and institutions.   • Location: Ideally based in Bilbao, but open to Madrid or other cities in northern Spain
  • Up to 70% travel expected

About the job

MSLs are the extension of the medical function in the field. They build and develop enduring ‘win-win' relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to disseminate scientific information and generate insights. MSLs provide field or hybrid medical support that is aligned and integrated to the overall medical strategy within the BU.

Key deliverables
  • HCP/KOL engagement plans
  • Regional plans
  • Medical metrics (CRM entries such as insights, interactions, etc.)
Interdependencies
  • Office-based medical (medical franchise heads and medical advisor), HEVA, Pharmacovigilance, CSU, MedInfo (GMI)
  • Commercial operations, Market Access (Value and Access and HEVA), regional tender managers, Public Affairs, communication, marketing (Franchise Head and Customer Engagements)
  • External customers (Scientific External Experts, regional medical societies, regional Public Health Authorities, etc.)
Main responsibilities
  • Engage proactively and reactively with healthcare professionals and institutions
  • Engage external stakeholders on medical and scientific information exchange for the therapeutic area during one-to-one interactions and group settings
  • Organise and engage KOLs & HCPs during local group scientific meetings (hospital staff meetings, webinars, etc.) according to the Stakeholder Engagement plan, aligned with Country & regional Medical plan
  • Develop and maintain trusted partnerships, through scientific engagement and exchange, with healthcare professionals and institutions in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
  • Communicate the clinical value of the TA products to population-health/formulary decision makers (outcomes Liaisons, as applicable)
  • Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited requests for information, support investigators in clinical studies submissions, management of regional advisory boards or scientific societies
  • Develop and execute the individual stakeholder engagement plans, aligned with the Medical Plan
  • Generate high-value, actionable insights and propose solutions
  • Collaborate effectively with relevant internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance with company, industry, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to evidence-generation activities, supporting both internal evidence-generation projects and clinical studies
About you

Education: MD, Pharmacy/Medicine or other science degree (required)

Experience / certification
  • MSL or other medical affairs positions (desirable at least 2 years)
  • Stakeholder strategy and planning
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Engagement with regional public health authorities (preferred)
  • Experience on immunology TA (preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
Languages

Intermediate - high level in spoken and written business English (required)

Technical skills
