A global leader in plant-based ingredients is seeking a Financial Controller in Alcobendas, Spain. This role focuses on financial control and budgeting, ensuring accurate financial reporting within manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will manage the annual budget, perform forecasts, and provide financial analyses to aid decision-making. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Finance and experience in manufacturing finance, with SAP proficiency a plus.

This role will focus on financial control and budgeting, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strategic planning within our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the annual budget, coordinating monthly forecasts, and providing insightful financial analysis to aid decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the annual industrial budget in collaboration with sales, marketing and PLM
  • Gather operational data for budget inputs and challenge / validate underlying assumptions (e.g. planned production volumes, machine runtimes, energy and material usage rates) to ensure alignment with Group ambition
  • Develop detailed budget (manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and quality) in line with planned activity levels
  • Define standard production costs in collaboration with manufacturing (annual effort)
  • Budgetary Coordination: Facilitate the annual budget control process and manage monthly rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Prepare annual budgets for all support enabling functions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders: Gather data for budget inputs, challenge / validate underlying assumptions, develop detailed budget in line with planned activity levels
  • Develop monthly forecasting of variable and fixed manufacturing / supply chain / quality costs, cost components and drivers; perform monthly updates
  • Prepare monthly industrial performance management reporting: dashboarding and report development (extraction from relevant tool, presentation setup, commentary and key messages / storyline development upon cross-functional alignment), benchmarking against performance targets and / or industry peers

  • Report on the progress, performance, and outcomes of key strategic and continuous improvement projects aligned with an organization’s long-term goals Tracking and Analysis: Monitor departmental expenses and analyze variances against the plan, providing recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Monthly Manufacturing Business Review (MBR): Lead the monthly review of manufacturing operations, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Capex Monitoring: Track capital expenditures, ensuring they align with budgetary constraints and strategic objectives.
  • Unit Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of unit costs to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • IT Collaboration: Work closely with the IT department on ERP optimization projects, including loading sales plans, expenses, and cost data.
  • SAP Management: Oversee changes to finished product costs in SAP and prepare and upload expenses and activity cost plans.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is beneficial, but not required.
