An esteemed university in Spain is offering a fully funded PhD position in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. You will work on designing 6G communication schemes and developing experimental testbeds. Applicants should have an MSc in Telecommunication Engineering or related fields along with strong backgrounds in telecommunications and programming. Overview

Join the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of TECNUN. A fully funded PhD position is available at the Tecnun School of Engineering, University of Navarra, San Sebastián, Spain. The selected candidate will join the Wireless Instrument Group (WIN) at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design integrated 6G communication and computing orchestration schemes for Critical Cyber-Physical Systems (CCPS).
  • Develop experimental testbeds for performance evaluation and validation.
  • Contribute to ongoing EU- and nationally funded research projects, participating in experimental activities, dissemination, and joint publications.

Qualifications
  • An MSc degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong background in telecommunications, networking, and/or computing.
  • Experience in building wireless systems or experimental testbeds.
  • Proficiency in programming and Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with 5G standards and/or open‑source projects (e.g., OpenAirInterface and srsRAN) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of critical cyber‑physical systems is an advantage.
  • English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).
  • Candidate must meet the requirements for admission to the doctoral program at the Tecnun School of Engineering.
