Overview
Food & Beverage Attendant role with responsibilities across guest service, merchandise handling, safety, and basic purchasing-related tasks. The position may be assigned to perform the role of Assistant Purchasing Coordinator when required. This description preserves the original content while organizing it into clear sections.
Responsibilities
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests; set tables according to event type and service standards; answer questions on menu selections; communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recook orders, and product availability.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen; record transactions in MICROS at the time of order; check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each course/beverage; maintain cleanliness of work areas and service utensils.
- Present accurate checks to guests and process payments; greet customers, assist with locating merchandise, respond to questions, and display merchandise neatly; restock items, check expiration dates, discard expired items, and keep storeroom clean.
- Complete opening and closing procedures; secure shop; monitor activity to prevent losses due to theft or damage; follow all company safety, security, and confidentiality policies; maintain uniforms and appearance; support teamwork and positive working relationships.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors; when required, perform the role of Assistant Purchasing Coordinator (see Purchasing section for details).
Purchasing (when assigned)
- Assist the Purchasing Coordinator and Purchasing Manager.
- Order all food and beverage based on business needs; ensure accurate administration of invoices and proper bookkeeping.
- Receive and inspect deliveries; maintain inventory controls for proper levels, dating, and rotation; ensure sanitation compliance per 39-point checklist; interact with outlet staff/management and vendors.
CRITICAL TASKS & Safety
- Safety and Security: report accidents, follow safety policies, identify unsafe conditions, use PPE, and follow emergency procedures.
- Policies and Procedures: protect privacy, follow policies, maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, protect assets, and perform duties as directed.
- Guest Relations: address service needs, welcome guests, anticipate preferences, thank guests, resolve issues, and assist individuals with disabilities within guidelines.
- Communication: use clear, professional language; handle calls and internal communications appropriately.
- Working with Others: support coworkers, maintain positive working relationships, promote teamwork.
- Quality Assurance: comply with quality standards.
Physical & General Tasks
- Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods as required; lift/carry up to 10 pounds without assistance; reach, bend, twist, and operate POS systems.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas; adhere to opening/closing checklists; manage inventory and stock as applicable.
- Serve and assist with beverage and food service, including alcohol procedures where appropriate.

- Language: English proficiency; basic German is a plus.
Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent.
- Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
- Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
