Overview

Cambridge House British International School is a highly distinguished British international school and was the first in Spain to gain both BSO (British School Overseas) and NABSS (National Association for British Schools in Spain) accreditation.

Founded more than 30 years ago in Valencia (East Spain), this progressive school with strong family values and delivering the English National Curriculum now has 1,700 students and has evolved to meet the needs of modern learners. Students aged three to 18 attend the school and follow the National English Early Years Framework and the English National Curriculum. Year 12 and 13 students take A-levels and gain accreditation for the Spanish Baccalaureate and can also choose to follow a Higher National Diploma (HND) route, providing vocational pathways.

Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join our extracurricular courses.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and develop activities and teaching materials adapted to the level of the students.
  • Provide dynamic and participatory lessons that promote learning of the Spanish language.
  • Evaluate students' progress through activities, exercises and observations.
  • Adapt teaching methodology according to the individual needs of the group.
  • Foster an inclusive and motivating learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly the progress and needs of the group to the extracurricular coordinator.
  • Manage educational material and ensure its proper use.
Qualifications
  • Hispanic Philology with a Specialisation in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Language and Literature
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hispanic Studies with Spanish Language
  • Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE)
  • Training in language teaching, pedagogy or similar (desirable).
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Spanish teacher or in language teaching (minimum 1 year).
