The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in a senior finance role in luxury hospitality, with strong knowledge of Spanish regulations. The role requires exceptional analytical and leadership skills, fluency in English, and a commitment to accountability and integrity. Formación

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role within luxury hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of tax, statutory and regulatory requirements in Spain.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish highly desirable.

The Spa offers 8 treatment rooms, an indoor pool and a gym.

About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona and reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Finance is responsible for leading the overall financial strategy and operations of the hotel. This includes financial planning, compliance, reporting, purchasing, cost control and IT oversight, ensuring all activities align with MOHG standards and local regulations.
The Director of Finance plays a key leadership role within the Executive Committee and acts as a strategic business partner to support decision‑making and drive financial performance.

As Director of Finance, you will be responsible for:
Financial Leadership
  • Leading the Finance Department, including accounting, purchasing and IT teams.

  • Overseeing the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with MOHG standards and statutory requirements.

  • Providing timely and detailed financial insights to the General Manager and Corporate Office.

  • Monitoring business performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending proactive actions.

  • Ensuring robust internal controls, audit compliance and adherence to financial policies.

  • Managing cash flow, working capital and long‑term financial planning.

Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Leading the hotel’s annual budgeting process.

  • Overseeing monthly forecasting in collaboration with department heads.

  • Ensuring financial targets are understood, tracked and achieved.

Purchasing & Cost Management
  • Supervising purchasing, cost control and inventory management to ensure efficiency and profitability.

  • Monitoring contract compliance and supplier performance.

  • Supporting operational teams with financial guidance and cost‑optimisation strategies.

Strategic Partnership
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee.

  • Supporting strategic decisions with clear financial analysis and scenario planning.

  • Contributing to the overall commercial strategy of the hotel.

People Leadership & Development
  • Leading, mentoring and developing finance team members.

  • Ensuring a strong culture of accountability, integrity and continuous learning.

  • Promoting alignment with Mandarin Oriental’s values and service philosophy.

As Director of Finance, we expect from you:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.

  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role within luxury hospitality.

  • Strong knowledge of tax, statutory and regulatory requirements in Spain.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

  • High level of integrity, discretion and business acumen.

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.

  • Fluency in English required; Spanish highly desirable.
