The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will design and implement robust security solutions for our cloud environments, safeguarding critical data from emerging threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure deployment and compliance while mentoring others in best practices for cloud security.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage cutting-edge security solutions to protect our cloud systems and data.
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments, proactively identifying and mitigating threats.
- Develop and enforce robust security policies and best practices tailored for cloud environments.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for breaches and react swiftly to security incidents.
- Partner with development and IT teams to ensure secure deployment and configuration of cloud services.
- Provide expertise on secure application development while mentoring junior analysts in cloud security practices.
- Keep up with the latest security trends and threats, continually improving our defense strategies.
- Support security audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Design and maintain secure Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates to streamline cloud provisioning, integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and audits of IaC scripts to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Manage source code practices and secure workflows, collaborating with teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IaC practices and GitHub workflows to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents related to IaC and GitHub, ensuring timely resolution.
What you bring to the table
- Extensive IT security experience with a focus on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with frameworks like CSA, NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001.
- Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS) and concepts like encryption, network security, and secure coding.
- Experience in incident response and forensic analysis specifically in cloud environments.
- Certifications such as AWS Cloud Architect, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or similar are a plus.
- Skills in managing complex security projects and simplifying technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible, with expertise in version control through GitHub.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines integrated with security tools.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes essentials.
