A leading technology firm is seeking an experienced API Azure Senior Engineer / Backend Tech Lead to design and deliver cloud-native backend solutions in a remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of backend development experience, strong expertise in C# and .NET 6+, and hands-on knowledge of Azure cloud services. Responsibilities include developing REST APIs, leading solutions architecture, and working with DevOps practices. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and is available to candidates located in Spain.

API Azure Senior Engineer (Backend Tech Lead)

Location: Remote from Spain

Contract: 12 month contract + extensions

Rate: €30–€35 / hour (Gross)

Start: ASAP

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced API Azure Senior Engineer / Backend Tech Lead to design, architect, and deliver cloud-native backend solutions using Microsoft Azure and .NET. You will work heavily with REST APIs, Azure services, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines. This is a hands‑on senior engineering role within an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test REST APIs and backend services.
• Build cloud applications using .NET 6+ and C#.
• Architect backend and integration solutions leveraging Azure Functions, Service Bus, AKS, APIM, and more.
• Lead solution design, code reviews, best practices, and backend architecture decisions.
• Work with Docker for packaging and deployment.
• Use Azure DevOps and Git for CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and product teams.
• Propose innovative cloud‑native architectural solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in backend/cloud development.
• Strong expertise in C# / .NET 6+.
• Deep knowledge of REST API design and development.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Azure API Management (APIM).
• Experience with Docker and containers.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to lead backend technical delivery independently.
