A leading automotive company in Madrid is looking for an Accounting & Regulatory Reporting Supervisor to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with local and international standards. The role involves supervising the accounting close process and preparing detailed reports. Candidates should have strong accounting backgrounds, particularly in financial services and knowledge of Bank of Spain regulations. The position is full-time and requires office attendance four days a week.

Formación

  • Proven strong accounting background with expertise in financial services and Bank of Spain reporting disclosures.
  • In-depth knowledge of income tax, deferred tax, VAT, and tax accounting principles.
  • Experience with Bank of Spain Regulatory and CIRBE Reporting.

Description

Join Ford Credit Spain as a Accounting & Regulatory Reporting Supervisor a pivotal role responsible for overseeing critical financial operations ensuring compliance with both local and international accounting standards and managing crucial regulatory reporting to the Bank of Spain. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented finance professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic global financial services organization.

You will be instrumental in the preparation of the annual report managing the month-end close process and ensuring accurate direct and indirect taxation. A core aspect of this role involves close collaboration with various business teams to proactively assess and plan for the accounting tax and regulatory reporting impacts of new business processes. Your expertise in Bank of Spain reporting will be critical in supporting our ongoing operations and regulatory relationships.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting :

  • Supervise the month-end accounting close for Ford Credit Spains ledger and financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet) coordinating team tasks to ensure timely completion within monthly and quarterly deadlines.
  • Lead the preparation of the Ford Credit Spain annual report including in-depth analytical review and providing comprehensive explanatory support for external audit inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough Balance Sheet and Income Statement variance analysis preparing clear and concise presentations for senior management.
  • Oversee the review and submission of quarterly returns ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Taxation :

  • Prepare accurate accounting tax entries.
  • Coordinate with Tax Advisors to review and ensure the timely and accurate submission of direct and indirect tax returns.
  • Regulatory Reporting :

  • Critically review and oversee Bank of Spain Statutory Reporting providing expert support for queries raised by the regulator.
  • Manage the review of CIRBE Bank of Spain Reporting addressing and supporting any inquiries from the regulator.
  • Qualifications

    Essential Skills & Experience :

  • Proven strong accounting background with specific expertise in financial services and Bank of Spain reporting disclosures.
  • In-depth knowledge of income tax deferred tax VAT withholding tax and tax accounting principles.
  • Demonstrable experience with Bank of Spain Regulatory and CIRBE Reporting.
  • A proactive self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional communication skills capable of delivering clear concise and impactful explanations to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities with a strong track record of meeting strict deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with robust analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Desirable Skills & Experience :

  • Solid understanding and practical application of both IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Actively pursuing a professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA ACCA CIMA ACA or equivalent).
  • Prior supervisory experience within a finance or accounting function.
