The research interests of the Chair of Plant Biochemistry focus on fundamental processes involved in chloroplast differentiation and development, as well as the operational regulation of chloroplast functions. This includes the core process of photosynthesis and its performance in the context of global change ecology. The advertised position is centered on chloroplast biology and offers the opportunity to develop an independent scientific profile within this field.
The position is intended as an entry-level postdoctoral role, with the opportunity to develop an independent scientific profile over time. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research on chloroplast biogenesis and function. Within this overarching topic, there is freedom to pursue individual research interests and establish a unique scientific direction. A demonstrated ability to secure third-party funding is considered an asset.In addition to research, the position involves participation in the Chair’s teaching activities and the development of independent course offerings.

• University degree in biology or biochemistry with doctorate that documents the ability to conduct research in the aforementioned fields

• Experience in work on organelle biology, biochemistry or characterization of protein functions by mutant characterization.
• Initial experience in raising third-party funds would be an advantage
The position is salaried and based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L).If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee will receive pay grade E13 TV-L.
