As being the Software Engineering Excellence Lead within R&D Software Solutions your focus is to foster a culture of software engineering and technical excellence, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Together with the Cyber Security Lead and the Software Quality Assurance Lead, you form the center of Software Engineering Excellence to continuously strengthen our best-in-class software development teams, spanning across Munich and Gurugram, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness to meet our business goals.

You ensure adherence to best practices, standards and drive innovations in how we develop best-in-class software. This covers the whole software development lifecycle, from architecture, via design, coding skills, code reviews, testautomation and verification, acceptance and up to sustaining engineering. You contribute to setting strategic direction, influence long-term technical decisions while promoting knowledge sharing and developer enablement including the use of GenAI Copilots within the software community. You influence by being a role model for the numerous agile software engineering teams. They develop using a broad technology stack, from real-time software up to Azure-based cloud platforms and software solutions.

This strategic role requires a strong background in software development, broad technical knowledge and leadership skills to continuously foster our software engineering excellence and stay ahead of emerging software development trends in an ever changing and fast paced environment to achieve our business goals.

• Optimization of software development: You drive the continuous improvement of efficiency and effectiveness across our software development - across sites and technologies (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Azure).
• Strategy and Roadmap: Definition of the strategy, development and implementation of the software engineering excellence roadmap.
• Promoting software quality: You establish and monitor best practices in terms of architecture and code quality, test strategies, maintainability, code reviews and the use of modern quality assurance tools.
• Use of AI and automation: You identify and implement innovative solutions, e.g. the use of AI tools such as copilots, to increase the productivity and quality of development.
• Toolchain optimization: You evaluate and optimize the development infrastructure, tools and processes used (e.g. CI/CD, static code analysis, test automation).
• Knowledge exchange & coaching: You support the teams through training, workshops and targeted know-how transfer on topics relating to software engineering excellence.
• Close collaboration: You will work closely with development management, architects, developers, QA, DevOps, Agile Coaches, and other stakeholders across sites.

• Master's degree in computer science and several years of experience in software development and technical management of larger development teams, ideally in a comparable technical environment (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Azure).
• Deep understanding of modern software development processes, toolchains (on-premise as well as in cloud) and quality assurance methods.
• Experience with AI-supported development tools (e.g. copilots, automated code analysis, test automation).
• Strong communication skills and enjoy working with different teams and cultures.
• Analytical and strategic thinking as well as a proactive, solution-oriented way of working.
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills.

• You can freely choose your working hours between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., work on a mobile or on-site basis at times and - if you wish - work on a Saturday instead of during the week
