Project Engineering Manager (Wet, Dry & Retort) - Rayong Factory
Job summary
A leading coffee company is looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager for their Düsseldorf location. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in project or process management within the food manufacturing industry. Responsibilities include overseeing project scopes, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and proficient communication in English are required to succeed in this role.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a technical field, preferably in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
- Direct experience in production of Wet, Dry & Retort process preferred.
- Experience with Fixed Assets Maintenance and project submissions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance budget preparation and control.
- Manage participation in the start-up of technical equipment and production lines.
- Prepare project progress reports monthly.

Education
Project Engineering Manager (Wet, Dry & Retort) - Rayong Factory
3+ years of working experience in project or process management, prefer direct experience in production of Wet, Dry & Retort process
- Fixed Assets Maintenance responsibilities, including maintenance budget preparation and control (preferably including exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and / or maintenance execution)
- Participation in the start-up of technical equipment(s) and / or production line(s)(preferably including industrial services supply)
- Participation in multi-disciplinary teams that focuses in process, utilities or packing optimization
- Manage his / her work following defined KPIs / Objectives, and proactively tracking them
- Preparation of a major CAPEX project submission.
- Definitions of roles and responsibilities within a project team (resource management)
- Determination of methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and / or equipment (SH&E)
Ensure that all assets are well designed and meet the business requirements through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and basic engineering.
- Ensure that the design is directed towards a low cost, highly efficient and flexible operation. Support Value Engineering Analysis (VEA)
Ensure safe work sites at all times. Provide installations that are easy to clean, maintain and operate, guaranteeing the safe, consistent manufacturing & distribution of quality products after commissioning.
- Ensure that the scope, deliverables, performance and milestones are clearly detailed and agreed up front when working with external engineering services, contractors, suppliers etc.
- Prepare a project progress report on a monthly basis.
Ensure that the project scope is fulfilled and in line with the client's expectations.
- Ensure that the operating, maintenance and cleaning staff is effectively trained and that the equipment handing over to the client is both smooth and efficient.
- Ensure that the client gets a comprehensive project file with all the necessary drawings, manuals, certificates, updated asset register, etc., in including the final project report.
- 5+ years experience in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry (as Project Engineer or Project Manager, M&I or equivalent positions)
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical Engineer
- Experience in managing & supervising vendor.
- Proficient level of communication in English
