Shopware is a leading ecommerce system that enables companies worldwide to scale quickly and efficiently in digital commerce. As a trendsetting open source solution, Shopware is already used by some of the largest European brands, retailers and manufacturers in the B2C and B2B industries.
As Head of Product Marketing (m/f/d), you will be the architect of our strategic narrative—owning how we talk about our platform, how we communicate value to customers, and how we shape market perception. Your leadership will guide the development of clear, differentiated messaging and compelling value propositions rooted in customer insights, competitive intelligence, and industry trends. You will lead storytelling efforts across the buyer and customer journey—creating emotional and rational resonance with merchants, partners, and analysts alike. This role sits at the intersection of product, brand, and commercial strategy, responsible for turning complex product capabilities into inspiring stories that convert interest into engagement—and engagement into revenue.
No matter where you work, you are an integral part of the team. Therefore, we are looking for a Head of Product Marketing (m/f/d) throughout Europe!
Strategic Messaging & Positioning: You develop and lead a cohesive messaging framework that positions Shopware distinctly across markets, industries, and buyer personas. You translate complex product capabilities into clear, benefit-oriented value propositions and own the articulation of the “why Shopware” story—credible, differentiated, and emotionally resonant.
Positioning & Messaging: You develop and own a clear, differentiated messaging framework and value proposition that positions Shopware credibly across markets, personas, and channels.
Narrative Design & Storytelling: You build narratives that connect to customer pain points, elevate our brand, and showcase innovation, flexibility, and independence. You champion a customer-centric storytelling approach across launches, events, sales materials, and analyst engagements.
Go-to-Market & Product Launches: You lead go-to-market strategies for new features and product innovations, crafting positioning, launch narratives, and enablement tools. You align closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistent execution across all regions and channels.
Sales, Partner & Analyst Enablement: You deliver impactful training, tools, and narratives that empower sales and partners to communicate Shopware’s value clearly and convincingly. You shape and drive our analyst relations strategy to secure favorable coverage and integrate insights into strategic planning.
Customer, Market & Competitive Insights: You synthesize customer research, competitive analysis, and market trends to guide positioning and strategy. You serve as the internal voice of the customer—advocating for relevance, clarity, and emotional connection in all communications.
Website & Content Strategy (Non-Campaign): You oversee strategic content across key website areas such as homepage, pricing, and product tours, ensuring alignment between product messaging and brand storytelling.
Team & Leadership Responsibilities: You lead and inspire a growing Product Marketing team, setting vision, priorities, and a strong culture of storytelling excellence. You ensure alignment with company and marketing goals, while balancing strategic focus with operational execution.
You have a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in marketing or storytelling are a plus.
You bring at least six years of experience in Product Marketing, with two or more years in a senior or leadership role with a strong track record in B2B software—ideally within ecommerce, SaaS, or composable platforms.
You are an expert in messaging, value proposition development, and storytelling for both technical and commercial audiences.
You have experience leading successful go-to-market initiatives, analyst engagements, and enablement programs.
You are passionate about storytelling and shaping market narratives and thrive in fast-paced environments, navigating ambiguity with clarity and confidence.
You are a masterful communicator who turns complexity into clarity—and clarity into inspiration.
You combine strategic thinking with strong project execution skills.
You possess deep empathy for customers and understand how to reflect their perspective in messaging and positioning.
You are fluent in English (native level). German is a plus, but is not required.
Company Culture: Open culture with flat hierarchies, where individual initiative is encouraged.
Employment Contracts: Permanent positions that offer long-term security.
Flexibility: Flexible working hours and options for mobile work and full-remote contracts.
Equipment: Freedom to choose your preferred work hardware.
Onboarding: Well-structured onboarding with support from a personal "buddy."
Work Environment: An inspiring environment with dedicated colleagues and a dynamic community.
Development Opportunities: Diverse opportunities for personal growth and development.
Additional Benefits: Attractive perks such as company pension plans, health programs, and regular team events.
... and much more!
