As we scale rapidly across the continent, we are seeking a technically astute and customer-focused Pre-Sales Engineer to engage directly with Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and tailor our solutions to diverse regulatory and operational environments.

The Role

As a Smart Grid Pre-Sales Engineer , you will be at the intersection of technology, regulation, and customer engagement. You’ll work closely with European DSOs to understand their unique challenges and demonstrate how VT Electron’s hardware and software solutions can meet their needs. This is a critical technical-commercial role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and has a deep understanding of grid modernisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical interface for DSOs across Europe, shaping solution designs that align with their operational and regulatory requirements.
• Translate complex customer needs into tailored proposals and solution architectures.
• Maintain a deep understanding of country-specific regulatory frameworks, grid standards, and procurement processes relevant to LV Monitoring and smart grid deployments.
• Support the business development and sales team in RFI / RFP responses, technical presentations, and pilot project scoping.
• Liaise with product and engineering teams to feed market insights and inform product roadmap decisions.
• Represent VT Electron at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to build credibility and technical trust.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, application engineering, or grid technology role within the electricity distribution sector.
• Strong understanding of low voltage grid operations, smart grid technologies, and the regulatory context across key European markets (especially Germany, Austria, Benelux, Nordics).
• Proven experience engaging with DSOs or utilities on technical specifications, project requirements, or solution customisation.
• Excellent communication skills in German (verbal and written). Some English preferred.
• Ability to travel within Europe for key engagements and events.
