Job summary
An international compliance firm is seeking a detail-oriented Global Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to import/export laws in a multinational setting. This role involves monitoring trade regulations, managing compliance data, and developing training programs. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Fluent English and German are required.

- Strong knowledge of global trade regulations and classification systems.
- Experience with trade compliance software and ERP systems.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret global trade regulations, including export controls.

Job Title: Global Trade Compliance Specialist
Location: Remote / NRW, Germany / Netherlands
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our international compliance team. This role is critical in ensuring our global operations adhere to all applicable import / export laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will work cross-functionally with legal, logistics, procurement, and commercial teams to support compliant trade practices across multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor and interpret global trade regulations, including export controls, sanctions, customs requirements, and classification standards.
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws.
- Manage product classification (HTS, ECCN) and maintain accurate trade data records.
- Support internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions related to trade compliance.
- Develop and deliver training programs to internal stakeholders on trade compliance topics.
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies as needed.
- Assist in license applications, export documentation, and screening processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of global trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Law, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of global trade regulations and classification systems.
- Experience with trade compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Amber Road).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent English and German Required.
