Java Back End Developer with German Proficiency
Job summary
A leading tech company in Berlin is seeking a Java Back End Developer to design and develop robust Java-based MicroServices. The role involves creating useful REST APIs and integrating various data sources. Candidates must have at least 7 years of IT experience, excellent English skills, and a minimum B1 level of German. This position requires extensive experience with Java, Spring Boot, and NoSQL databases, and familiarity with DevOps practices is a plus.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of experience as an IT professional.
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- German Proficiency: B1 or higher.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and develop Java-based MicroServices.
- Participate in discussions regarding software architecture.
- Design and develop REST APIs for mobile and web applications.
- Develop integrations with various data sources and applications.

As a Java developer you are responsible for the following tasks:
- Design, prototyping and development of robust and secure Java-based MicroServices
- Active participation in discussions regarding software architecture, the solution of complex development tasks and challenges in customer projects
- Design and development of useful and intuitive REST APIs for mobile and web application development
- Design and development of the underlying search and analysis functions of our platform
- Development of integrations with various data sources and enterprise applications
- Minimum 7+ Years of Experience as IT professional
You have a strong quantitative and analytical-critical thinking and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. In accordance with our principles, the following requirements are the main focus of your studies
- Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with Java frameworks and technologies like DropWizard, Jersey, Spring and JPA
- Experience with NoSQL databases like Dynamo, Mongo or Cassandra
- Experience with various software design techniques (TDD and Continuous Integration)
- Stacks: Java | RESTful Services | JSON | Java J2EE | REST APIs | ElasticSearch
- Experience with DevOps especially for AWS and/or Microsoft Azure a big plus
- Excellent English and at least minimum B1 Level of German Proficiency
