As a (Junior) ServiceNow Developer, you will become part of a long-term customer project on the ServiceNow platform. The focus is not on frequent project changes, but on continuity, professional growth, and steadily increasing responsibility over several years.
From day one, you will work in a professional development environment, supporting experienced developers and Solution Architects. You will gradually develop from a hands‑on junior into an independently working developer. Along the way, you will learn not only the technical aspects of the platform, but also clean development standards, performance‑oriented thinking, and sustainable platform architecture.
Support the configuration and development of ServiceNow solutions (e.g. ITSM, CSM, Workflow Automation).
Implement clearly defined development tasks under the guidance of experienced team members.
Develop and adapt Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and UI Policies.
Assist in analyzing existing implementations and gradually refactoring them.
Gain hands‑on experience with server‑side JavaScript logic (e.g. GlideRecord, basic data processing).
Develop an understanding of data models, relationships, and fundamental performance considerations.
Support testing, bug fixing, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the project team.
Gradually take ownership of defined topic areas within the project.
Work closely with experienced developers, Solution Architects, and business roles.
Participate in sprint meetings, reviews, and technical alignment sessions.
Operate within structured, predictable project setups with clear points of contact.
Communicate primarily in German within the project, with occasional use of English.
The target project is designed for the long term (several years) and is technically demanding. Within this environment, you will encounter:
Extensive Script Includes with complex business logic
Multi‑stage data processing and server‑side logic
Active consideration of performance and query optimization
As a junior, you will not be left on your own. You will work as part of a team and be deliberately introduced to these topics step by step. The expectation is not that you master everything immediately, but that you bring curiosity, technical interest, and persistence to grow into this depth over time.
Practical experience with the ServiceNow platform
Basic knowledge of JavaScript and an interest in server‑side development
Understanding of structured software development and clean code principles
Very good German skills (minimum B2) and good English skills
Willingness to commit long‑term to a project and grow professionally
Reliable, structured working style and a desire to truly understand how things work
Initial experience with Script Includes, Business Rules, or GlideRecord
Basic knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST)
Understanding of IT service processes (e.g. basic ITIL knowledge)
First exposure to agile ways of working (Scrum)
ServiceNow certifications (e.g. CSA) or a clear plan to obtain them
A long‑term project with planning security instead of constant context switching
Structured onboarding and close technical support from experienced colleagues
Real development opportunities – technically, professionally, and within the project
International collaboration with clear, German‑speaking project communication
An environment where clean development, learning, and stability matter more than short‑term speed
Market‑aligned compensation appropriate to junior level and development path
