Could you be the full-time Indirect Buyer (f/m/d) in Hennigsdorf we’re looking for?

Your Future Role

2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Mahmoud Elshaar, the Sourcing Manager Sub Cluster Indirect and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

We’ll look for you to :

• Act as the single point of contact for your commodity towards the Procurement Manager.
• Execute global and regional commodity strategies; develop and enforce local strategies for assigned market codes.
• Lead supplier panel management, consolidation, and reduction initiatives
• Ensure compliance with Alstom’s Code of Ethics, EHS, and sustainability requirements
• Coordinate 3–5 buyers (local + GPCC Romania) for your commodity.
• Chair weekly commodity calls, align priorities, and monitor progress.
• Organize monthly governance reviews with stakeholders and quarterly reviews with global/regional teams.
• Support performance feedback for buyers under your functional supervision.
• Manage sourcing projects and negotiations for high-value or complex needs.
• Approve sourcing and award decisions up to your assigned threshold as per Alstom policy.
• Ensure process compliance, prevent maverick buying, and enforce governance.
• Collaborate with internal functions (Legal, E&C, Finance, EHS, Insurance) for contract approvals.

• University degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in indirect sourcing.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is a plus.
• Prior team lead or coordination experience is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel); data analysis and KPI reporting skills required.
• Familiarity with digital tools and AI-based solutions; Power BI is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP MM and Ariba (S2C, P2P, CLM) preferred.
• Languages: Fluent German and good English required.
