We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced specialist in the German VDV-KA (Kernapplikation) standard to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing solutions based on the VDV-KA and upcoming standards, educating and mentoring other developers, and contributing to the conceptual design and software architecture of our projects. This role also involves hands-on development to support our teams.

• Maintain and enhance KA 1.x solutions, including KVP/DL/PV systems and SAM clusters.
• Develop new solutions and modules based on the upcoming standards.
• Ensure compliance with the VDV-KA and standards in all relevant projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful project deliveries.
• Educate and mentor other developers on standards.
• Conduct training sessions and create documentation for knowledge transfer.
• Utilize strong knowledge of Enterprise Java technologies to develop robust applications.
• Implement best practices in Java development and ensure high-quality code standards.
• Comply with Cubic’s values and policies, including code of conduct, quality, security, and safety policies.

• Deep knowledge of the VDV-KA standard and its applications in electronic ticketing and fare management systems.
• Familiarity with the standards or ability to acquire knowledge independently.
• Strong experience with Enterprise Java technologies, including Java EE.
• Proficiency in database management with PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Proven track record in maintaining and developing solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in German and English languages.

• Experience in public transport ticketing and automated fare collection.
• Familiarity with mobile ticketing crypto services and virtualized environments.
• Knowledge of system design tools like UML and Enterprise Architect.
• Experience with technologies such as Apache Karaf, Spring, or OSGi.

• Self-motivated and proactive with minimal supervision.
• Ability to build client relationships and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Commercially aware, protecting business interests while delivering quality.
• Structured approach to analyzing business processes.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.

• A university degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
