About the Role
We are seeking a UX Researcher with data engineering and AI capabilities to join the UX chapter at Mobile.de, Germany's largest automotive marketplace. This hybrid role combines deep UX research expertise with technical skills to transform our understanding of users at scale.
You'll work at the intersection of user research and data science, building automated systems that turn user data into actionable insights while maintaining a human-centered focus. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of research operations through technical innovation.
The mobile.de UX team is made up of over 30 designers, researchers, and content specialists. As part of the Strategy and Excellence team within the UX chapter, you'll help shape the future of our product and drive meaningful improvements in how we work. You'll also collaborate closely with our data organization to inform and elevate our approach.
What You'll Do
Lead Data-Driven UX Research: Design mixed-methods studies combining traditional research with AI-powered analysis of user data from surveys, interviews, app reviews, and behavioral analytics
Build Research Data Systems: Create automated data collection and analysis systems for research metrics; integrate UX insights with platforms like BigQuery and Looker
Develop AI-Assisted Tools: Implement AI/ML workflows (including LLMs and NLP) to categorize, summarize, and extract patterns from user feedback at scale
Drive Research Operations: Establish data standards and knowledge management systems; champion experimental AI approaches in UX research
Collaborate and Influence: Partner with product, design, engineering, data teams, and GenAI acceleration team to translate research findings into actionable recommendations
What You'll Bring
Professional Foundation: 3+ years of professional experience spanning UX research and data science/analysis. Your expertise may lean toward either UX research or data analysis, but you should have working knowledge and genuine curiosity about both domains.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis tools; experience with cloud platforms (BigQuery, AWS) and building automated data systems
AI & ML Expertise: Experience applying AI/ML techniques, especially NLP and text analysis; familiarity with LLMs and generative AI technologies
Research Operations: Experience in knowledge management, process optimization, and technical communication across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
MS in quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, HCI, Psychology, Engineering)
Experience with research infrastructure development
German language skills (beneficial but not required)
