Overview

This is a foundational, hands-on role. You’ll be our first dedicated UI / UX Designer, building the future of Lens design—by doing the work and setting the vision.

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the Lens visual identity—from product UI to marketing visuals.
  • Spearhead the implementation of our design system, ensuring consistency and clarity across all parts of the Lens experience.
  • Design world-class user interfaces, especially for complex developer workflows in Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape feature designs and improve usability.
  • Create high-quality Figma designs, interactive prototypes, and production-ready visuals.
  • Craft visual assets for the product, web, events, social, docs—anywhere Lens shows up.
  • Champion UI / UX quality across the org and advocate for the user.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UI / UX, or visual design, ideally within fast-paced product organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement modern, intuitive user interfaces, with a focus on developer tools or complex software products.
  • A portfolio that highlights visual sophistication, design systems thinking, and a polished execution—with a style aligned to the clarity, precision, and modern aesthetic of Lens.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, visual asset creation, and design system development.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with product management and engineering to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Familiarity with or interest in conducting user research and usability testing, and applying insights to drive design improvements.
  • Bonus: Experience designing for desktop applications or web-based developer platforms.
