The Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University, together with the cooperating Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, is Europe's leading centre for basic and contract research in the field of laser technology. In close co‑operation with partners from industry and research, the Fraunhofer ILT is working, among other things, on the further development of the additive manufacturing process Laser Powder Bed Fusion (PBF‑LB / M ). With PBF‑LB / M, metallic components with almost any complex geometry can be additively manufactured using a layer‑by‑layer structure. The versatile range of applications includes components in the automotive industry, aerospace and medical technology.

  • You will work on experimental process development with an innovative laboratory setup
  • Your area of responsibility will include the investigation of basic defect locations
  • You will manufacture initial components in order to characterise their properties
  • You will contribute to the optimisation of processes
