At the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen, we are creating the production of the future with more than 450 employees – digital, sustainable and resilient. In the modeling and simulation group of the Glass and Precision Manufacturing department, we are looking for motivated student assistants involved in highly innovative research projects.

As a student assistant you support our team with FEM simulation and Python programming, allowing you to broaden your research experience besides your studies. Furthermore, you will collaborate with a highly experienced research team with interdisciplinary backgrounds.

Be part of change
  • Support the team to improve the accuracy of the FEM simulation model
  • Post-processing the simulation results in Python
  • Programming, data analysis and visualization in Python
  • Numerical modeling and programing for model optimization & machine-learning
What you contribute
  • Studying Computational Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Simulation Sciences, or a comparable subject
  • Advanced programming competence in Python is required and basic competence in Fortran is advantageous
  • Basic Experience in FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation tools e.g., ABAQUS or ANSYS
  • Good analytical skills and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary project work
  • Initiative, excellent communication skills and a passion for teamwork
