Strategic Procurement Expert (f/m/d)

Starting date: as soon as possible
Compensation package: €90,000 - €100,000 (fixed range, annual gross)

Equity: €40,000 - €80,000 in company shares

Benefits: up to €5,000 p.a. in company benefits

Work model: Hybrid in Munich; occasional travel is required to supplier and client locations

Your role

As a Strategic Procurement Expert, you will lead Orbem’s strategic and technical procurement activities. You’ll develop and execute supply strategies that align with company objectives, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and timely supply.

Working closely with the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, cross-functional teams and stakeholders, you’ll assist and drive interdisciplinary projects as well as daily business with high impact and risk, while mentoring colleagues on procurement and technical topics.

In a fast-growing environment, expanding across geographies and verticals, this role demands a strategic, technically versed professional who thrives in high pace, fosters collaboration, and drives innovation and efficiency across procurement and supply management.

Your responsibilities
  • Design and execute procurement strategies for our products in alignment with our company objectives from a technical and commercial view.
  • Source parts and suppliers to optimize product choice, supplier relationships, supply stability and commercial terms.
  • Monitor supply chain risks and devise strategies for mitigation and to strengthen supply chain resilience.
  • Collaborate on product development and work closely with product teams to support new product introductions and align specifications with sourcing possibilities.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
  • Collaborate with research & development to procure experimental and novel materials and technologies, facilitating innovation and product development transitions.
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to provide strategic insights, identify new sourcing opportunities and bring innovation to our department and our product and technical teams.
  • Lead procurement projects and manage cross-functional projects from start to finish.

Experience and skills
  • 6+ years of experience in a technical and strategic procurement and/or supply chain role.
  • 2+ years of experience in product development and project management.
  • Proven track record of successful procurement projects as well as interdisciplinary projects with technical or product teams.
  • Substantial experience in developing and implementing successful procurement strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a history of effectively managing and optimizing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and great team-spirit.
  • This is an expert role focusing on technical, procurement and strategic expertise (not on team leadership).
