Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing COBOL applications running on mainframe environments.
• Participate in the migration or modernization of legacy COBOL systems and related technologies.
• Ensure the quality and reliability of applications through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience in software development and maintenance with online and batch programs on mainframe using COBOL VSE, VSAM, and CICS.
• Good knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL).
• Ability to understand and maintain complex existing codebases.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and structured working style.
• Good communication skills in German (Minimum C1).
