Luminar Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – V&V Python to support our software V&V team in Munich, Germany. This team develops modern and efficient solutions for the testing, validation and verification of the safety-critical software developed by Luminar. This software includes key perception functions that enable the creation of LIDAR-based ADAS solutions by our customers. The software V&V team is responsible for the processes that prove the quality of our software deliveries and the compliance with state-of-the-art safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex automated testing solutions using mostly Python and C++.
  • Work with function teams to identify and define validation and verification strategies of their components.
  • Contribute to testability aspects of the system architecture.
  • Build validation solutions based on simulation, SIL and HIL technologies.
  • Contribute to the software development tool environment as well as continuous integration.
  • Ensure the highest software quality for our products.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, or relevant work experience with an MS.
  • Production level software engineering experience with modern Python.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD etc.
  • Programming experience with C++.
  • Experience using SIL, HIL and similar testing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with designing and development software in accordance with quality, functional safety and security standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, AUTOSAR, MISRA, ASPICE, etc.).
  • Experience in distributed systems and embedded systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working within a dynamic and continuously evolving environment.
  • Able to work in cross-functional teams across organizational/geographical boundaries.
  • Show out-of-box thinking and invent creative solutions for challenging problems.
